Murder/Suicide as Husband Kills Wife Then Himself

Phnom Penh: At 2:30 AM on Saturday, at Tnot Chrum 3 village, Sangkat Boeung Tumpun 2, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh. In a jealous rage Lor Sopheary, a 60 year disabled soldier, stabbed his 52 year old wife Ang Sikou. After stabbing his wife to death he then used the weapon to take his own life.

A daughter of the couple told police that her father continuously accused her mother of cheating on him, culminating in arguments over the past three days. The children of Lor Sopheary tried to intervene, but on Saturday, he locked his wife in room and killed her before killing himself.

The children alerted the Boeung Tumpun 2 police. The bodies tested negative for COVID-19 and an autopsy on the bodies is now being carried out.
